The finished project
600 sq. ft. East Amherst patio
This East Amherst backyard began as open lawn outside the sliding glass doors. The homeowners wanted a much larger, more useful surface without the extra cost or visual detail of decorative color and stamping.
The approximately 600-square-foot footprint creates enough room to arrange dining, grilling and seating areas without crowding the route back to the house. Natural-gray concrete and a consistent broom finish keep the finished space clean and practical.
Two wide broom-finished steps complete the transition at the sliding doors. At roughly 8 feet across, the steps feel proportional to both the doorway and the scale of the new patio.
